Food Combining Principles

Improper food combining can be a contributing factor to an unhealthy digestive tract.  When we combine our foods properly, we can effectively digest our food and thereby not create extra stress to our digestive system. Some general guidelines are:

1. eating fruit by itself or with other fruit is fine

2. eating proteins and starches together is beneficial

3. combining vegetables and proteins, or vegetables and starches is fine

4. we should not eat more than one protein per meal
